Our family recently stayed at Gate Cottage in the picturesque village of Thaxted. the location was ideal, with the charming parish church right across the street. the cottage itself was cozy and well-appointed, with a lovely carpet in the living room and bedroom. As a family, we particularly enjoyed the proximity to family-friendly amenities in the area. the nearby pub, the Swan, was a hit with both the adults and children. the village offered various activities suitable for families, making it a great base for exploring the area. One standout feature of our stay was the warm and welcoming atmosphere provided by Katharine, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. From turning on the heating in advance to providing milk and biscuits, her hospitality truly enhanced our experience. Gate Cottage has enormous potential for families looking for a peaceful retreat in a beautiful setting.
